DOUBLE BOARD CERTIFIED ATTORNEY
Gregory Scott is a double Board Certified trial attorney. He is Board Certified in the fields of Civil Trial Law and in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Less than 1% of all licensed Texas attorneys are double Board Certified. To learn more on the strict requirements that must be met before a Texas attorney can even apply for Board Certification, please click on the “Board Certification” page of our website.
JURY TRIAL EXPERIENCE
An important prerequisite for Board Certification is an attorney’s proven record in Jury Trials. Contrary to what is depicted in movies & TV shows, few civil law attorneys in Texas go to trial on a regular basis. During the last three decades, Mr. Scott has successfully tried countless lawsuits to Verdict. In 1998, for example, Mr. Scott personally tried 19 civil lawsuits to Jury Verdict. Most attorneys have not tried 19 lawsuits in their entire career. Although many corporate & business clients are justifiably reluctant to go to trial for fear of biased judges or an unexpected Jury Verdict, retaining an attorney with vast trial experience pays great dividends in pre-trial depositions and settlement negotiation. This is especially important as more than 95% of Texas civil lawsuits settle before trial.
